Shelterbox: our CRM implementation journey

About to embark on implementing a new CRM? Join Will Kemp from Shelterbox and Alison Davis from Blackbaud Europe, for an honest and heartwarming discussion on how your organisation can best prepare and execute on implementing a new CRM. In this session Will and Alison will explore how Shelterbox went about finding the right CRM partner for their organisation, what they were hoping to achieve with a new CRM, the lessons they learned on their journey to implementation and the results they are now achieving. A balance of practical advice and anecdotes, you’ll come away armed with useful information to help you embark on implementing the right CRM at your organisation. 

Speakers:

Alison Davis, Professional Services Consultant, Blackbaud

Alison joined Blackbaud in 2011 as a Consultant. Her role has included projects for existing clients (British Heart Foundation, Breast Cancer Care, University of Oxford, National Trust) and leading the implementation of BBCRM for new clients such as Compassion UK, Plan International, Sightsavers International, ShelterBox Trust and currently the Youth Hostel Association and University of Warwick. Her original background was in banking, but she also worked for 3 charities as a Database/Business Information/CRM Manager over a 14 year period. She began her IT career in an adult hospice expanding their current database, then a school for the blind bringing in a new system as an early adopter. Before joining Blackbaud she worked at a national leukaemia charity, where again Alison acted as project manager for the installation, of a new database. Alison also worked as a volunteer for Hospice in the Weald for 3 years.

 

Will Kemp, Information Systems Project Manager, Shelterbox

Will is an is an experienced technical project manager with over 20 years in the IT industry, he has previously worked in the government, charity, private and education sectors before starting at ShelterBox in 2018 as an IS Project Manager. Will has recently led a successful full implementation of BBCRM along with an integrated volunteer portal for ShelterBox. 

Will specialises in helping people, businesses and teams understand the fundamentals of project management, risk planning and control, building effective teams and delivering projects using traditional project management and Agile effectively.
